The Black and Latino Filmmaker’sCoalition, (BLFC), presents the 2nd Annual Black and Latino Film Awards, hosted by Indie Film Star Kenishia Green (Wisper, Situationships) and Comedy Legend Jon Laster (BET, Comic View). The Black and Latino Film Awards was created to honour the work BLFC members and their immediate film and television community. The nominees for the Black and Latino Film Awards were selected by BLFC membership for Best Performance, and other categories for feature film, short film and episodic writers, directors, and producers, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year BLFC salutes Warrington Hudlin for decades of foundation building work with the Black Filmmaker Foundation, DV Republic, IFP, Tribeca AllAccess and Museum of Moving Image. Additionally, his groundbreaking work in producing House Party, Boomerang, Bebe Kids and CosmicSlop. This is just a small sample of Mr. Hudlin’s consistent efforts that are in alignment with the mission of the Black and Latino filmmakers Coalition mission.

Eden Duncan and Dante Crichlow(See You Yesterday),Danny Arroyo and Anthonio McKay( Sangre Negra), Jon Laster(One Bedroom), and Gerrado Velasquez( Rich Kids) will be given the honour of being nominated for Best Performance, the award given to an actor who has delivered an excellent portrayal of a leading character in a film.

Awards will also be given for Episodic, Short Film and Feature Directors, Episodic, Feature Film, and Non-Fiction Episodic Producers. Writers were also nominated for Episodic, Short Film, and Feature Films as well.
